聖誕是燈光的節日 燈光是真道的圖畫 (約翰福音 1：9)

聖誕是禮物的節日 禮物是恩典的圖畫 (約翰福音 1：14; 馬太福音 5:14-16)

你們的光也要這樣照在人前，叫他們看見你們的好行為，把榮耀歸給你們在天上的父。(馬太福音 5:16)

好行為: 公義、憐憫、信實 (馬太福音 23：23)

有真理有恩典避免三個錯誤

1. 只要禮物不要光 (馬太福音 5:17-18)
2. 假設世人看到我們的好行為 (馬太福音 5:11-12)
3. 刻意在人前行善好讓人看到 (馬太福音 6:1)

結論: 明明地宣揚真道 暗暗地扶助貧困

貧困 (馬太福音 25：35-40)

1. 流浪在外
2. 赤身露體
3. 病了
4. 在監獄裏

以基督耶穌的心為心 (腓立比書 2:5-8)

問題：

1. 想想你生活中有些人可以被形容為流浪在外、赤身露體、生病、在監獄裏？
2. 公義、憐憫與信實的善行在你的生命中會是什麼樣子？
3. 你如何將真理當作一種充滿愛的服務來維護？

Uphold the Truth, Support the Poor

Christmas light is a picture of truth. (John 1:9)

Christmas gift is a picture of grace. (John 1:14; Matthew 5:14-16)

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven. (Matt. 5:16)

Good works: justice, mercy, and faithfulness. (Matt. 23:23)

A balanced view of truth & grace forestalls three errors

1. Liking the gift, not the light (Matt. 5:17-18)
2. Supposing all will see our good works (Matt. 5:11-12)
3. Doing the good deeds for people to see (Matt. 6:1)

Conclusion: Uphold the truth publicly, support the poor quietly

The Poor (Matt. 25:35-40)

1. Stranger
2. Naked
3. Sick
4. In Prison.

Adopt the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus (Phil. 25:5-8)

Questions:

1. Who are some in your life that can be described as stranger, naked, sick, and in prison?
2. What would the good works of justice, mercy, and faithfulness look like in your life?
3. How do you uphold the truth as a loving service?
