新生命的分別 (1:20-24): 教會每一個成員，作為聖徒作為信徒，最基本的特質必須是真理的戀人Truth Lover。
舊人(1:17-19): 真理的愛慕變成麻木，對眼前的世界產生扭曲的慾望、變成好色、貪婪。
保羅的人生目標(腓立比書 3:8): 認識耶穌贏得基督
認識基督 = 用基督的眼光看世界
教會的目標是Building, Budget, Baptism 還是 BIBLE?
行銷型的教會把教義的討論減到最低，新會員加入門檻減到最低，留下一個真空，被虛假錯誤的謬論所佔據 (提摩太后書 4:3): 顧客至上的教會，教會的顧客又怎麼會錯呢？
如何分辨真理的教師呢？提多書1:6-9
Francis Schaeffer: 如果一個所謂正統的信仰沒有引導出正統的生活，也許這個所謂正統的信仰根本就不是那麼正統。
熱愛真理是一種聖靈的恩賜。
人如何常在基督裡面呢？花更多時間在聖經真理的教導上 (約翰福音 15:5)。
當我們沒有動力去研讀聖經時怎麼做？祈禱。
當我們跌倒的時候，本身就是一個提醒，求主幫助。
討論問題：
1. 什麼會奪去或淡化我們對真理的愛？
2. 什麼可以幫助我們重新燃起對真理的愛？
3. 3. 你覺得在你的生命中、在你的生命小組中、在匯點教會中，讀經有沒有是被放在優先的地位嗎？
4. 你會做些什麼來增加你對聖經的洞察力？
Truth Lovers

The Distinctiveness of New Life (1:20-24): Every member of the church, as saints and believers, must fundamentally embody the essential quality of being a Truth Lover.
The Old Self (1:17-19): The love for truth becomes numb, leading to distorted desires for the world before them, turning into lust and greed.
Paul’s Life Goal (Philippians 3:8): To Know Jesus and To Win Christ
Knowing Christ = Seeing the World Through Christ’s Eyes
Is the Church’s Goal Building, Budget, Baptism, or BIBLE?
Marketing-oriented churches minimize doctrinal discussion and lower barriers for new members, leaving a vacuum filled with false and misleading doctrines (2 Timothy 4:3): In a customer-centric church, how could the church’s customers ever be wrong?
How to discern teachers of truth? Titus 1:6-9
Francis Schaeffer: If a so-called orthodox faith does not lead to an orthodox life, perhaps that so-called orthodox faith is not so orthodox after all.
The passion for truth is a gift of the Holy Spirit.
How can one abide in Christ? Spend more time in the teaching of biblical truth (John 15:5).
What should we do when we lack motivation to study the Bible? Pray.
When we stumble, it itself is a reminder—ask the Lord for help.
