Starting this month, I will start an occasional newsletter called Toolkit written especially for group and ministry team leaders. The Toolkit will consist of what I call “information that you can use,” especially when you need to plan ministry and lead a study. It is occasional, meaning not every month. I will only do one when I have new resources to share.
But this month I have a few.
First, I was asked this past Thursday by the 123 Let’s Go team to give a biblical and theological perspective of the ministry of Prayer Walk. I thought this brief presentation might help you think about other spiritual disciplines and ministry practices that are not mentioned in the Bible. You can find the sharing on YouTube:
Second, I presented a ministry reflection paper this past Friday at the annual forum of the Chinese Evangelical Theological Society. By way of observing the distinctives, challenges, and growth opportunities of Chinese churches in North America, I seek to identify some necessary emphases a theological seminary preparing for future workers of Chinse churches. Those educational emphases are areas that any ministry leaders need to learn more about.

Third, I have chosen books almost every year that I consider “must-read-for-leaders” as Christmas-New Year gifts for group and ministry leaders serving with me closely to nudge their thinking. This year, to encourage everyone read The Courage to be Protestant of one my favorite teachers David Wells, I have bought quite a few copies. I will explain the reason for picking the book in my sermon today. The book is available both in English and Chinese translation as 勇守真道.
